Layla Yarjani

Layla is the founder of NEXTGen London, the first chapter and network of young professionals supporting UNICEF in Europe. She is also the co-founder of NEXTGen Europe. Professionally, Layla is Director of Operations at Little Bridge, an immersive games-based children’s learning and media company. Prior to Little Bridge she spent five and a half years in digital strategy consulting. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a dual major in Business (Red McCombs School) and Political Science.

She has been involved in philanthropic endeavours from her early childhood and launched her first large-scale project at age 14. She was the Philanthropy Chair of her sorority at university and continued her involvement into her professional career. She is passionate about improving the lives of children via education and sustainable development. She believes these are the key tenants to drive true and long-term impact. She is particularly passionate about working with UNICEF as their global footprint and relationships reach the most dangerous corners of the world. She has diverse international experience having lived in the UK (currently), Iran, Spain, and several major US cities. Outside of Next Gen Layla loves to travel and practice yoga!

Hortense Decaux

Hortense co-founded UNICEF NEXTGen Europe and was pivotal in the growth of the first chapter of NEXTGen in London, she currently co-Chairs the UK Committee. She was a strategy consultant in Private Equity for 4 years at the Boston Consulting Group after having studied Management & Corporate Finance at Royal Holloway. Since leaving BCG in March 2016, Hortense is now setting up a coding and full-stack development academy in Lebanon for underprivileged and marginalised youth along with further developing NEXTGen Europe.

Hortense is passionate about the cause UNICEF and NEXTGen fight for together every day, working to save and improve children’s lives all over the world. She is a firm believer that through passion, innovation and drive, the NEXTGen community will make a positive impact on children. For the last three years, Hortense has also been a Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry tutor to marginalized GCSE and A-Level students. In her spare time, Hortense loves to travel and practice photography.
