In Game 3, the Stars put up a strong fight to secure a 5-3 victory, giving them a 2-1 series lead over the Oilers. Despite Edmonton’s 2-0 lead in the first period, they were unable to hold on as Dallas staged an impressive comeback, thanks to Jason Robertson’s remarkable first-ever postseason hat trick.
Can Edmonton bounce back from their recent loss and secure a win? Alternatively, will Dallas move closer to a Stanley Cup Final appearance?

Stars vs Oilers NHL Game 4 Predictions & Pick (5/29)
Having started the Western Conference Finals with a victory, the Oilers are now facing the risk of being down 3-1 tonight. It is crucial for them to avoid going back to Dallas with a two-game disadvantage, so they must secure a win against the Stars this evening to keep their hopes alive.
The Oilers’ primary focus should be maintaining their performance for the entire 60 minutes. In Game 3, Kris Knoblauch’s team once again lost a two-goal lead, a pattern previously observed in Game 1 (which they managed to win in overtime). They cannot afford to become complacent because a strong team like the Stars will take advantage of any opportunity.
That being said, it is crucial to mention that Dallas has scored 9 goals compared to Edmonton’s 4 in the second and third periods of this series.
The inconsistent goaltending from the Oilers is not beneficial. Although Stuart Skinner had an impressive performance in the series opener, saving 31 out of 33 shots (93.9%), he struggled in the last two games, allowing six goals on 45 shots. In fact, he ended Game 3 with a save percentage of only .810.
Oilers G Stuart Skinner struggled in Games 2 and 3. Will he be in top form tonight?
In the meantime, Jake Oettinger has been delivering exceptional performance for the Stars. The 25-year-old goalie has successfully defended the net with an impressive 2.09 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in three games. He has consistently finished each match with a save percentage of .900 or higher.
It’s worth noting that Oettinger’s recent track record on the road is exceptional, having lost only one out of his past 13 starts. During this impressive stretch, he has maintained a remarkable 1.89 goals against average (GAA), a .930 save percentage (SV%), and even achieved one shutout.
The Stars’ impressive depth leaves little room for doubt. All four lines in Dallas can generate offense, unlike Edmonton, whose production has been limited to their first line in this series. If the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins/Connor McDavid/Zach Hyman line isn’t performing, no one else has stepped up for the Oilers.
With that in mind, I see the Stars taking a 3-1 series lead tonight. They’ve been the better team throughout the series and their lineup depth is undeniable. Throw in the fact that Dallas is also receiving great play between the pipes and it’s easy to see why the visiting team could win.
I’ll also take a Stars outright upset. They just beat the Oilers by two goals on the road, which includes outscoring them 5-1 in the final two frames. If there’s a team that can win in enemy territory, it’s the Stars.

Benn has found his rhythm in the 2023-24 NHL playoffs after a fluctuating beginning. The ex-Art Ross Trophy champion has accumulated three goals and seven assists, resulting in a total of 10 points in his previous nine games. He has managed to contribute points in six of those games, showcasing his consistency. Impressively, he goes into tonight’s match with a streak of four consecutive games with at least one point.
In addition, it is worth noting that the Over has also prevailed in seven out of the last nine encounters between the teams, during which the player in question has accumulated an impressive 11 points. Esteemed individuals like Benn have shown their ability to rise to the occasion when it truly counts, so it is reasonable to anticipate him setting a positive example tonight.
