Eddie Jordan has further elaborated on the story behind his role as Adrian Newey’s manager.

Adrian Newey, Ferrari rumour dismissed by Eddie Jordan

Red Bull put an end to weeks of rumors regarding Newey’s future with the team by announcing before the Miami Grand Prix that he would depart in the first quarter of the upcoming year.

Ferrari became the immediate speculation as his next destination, considering the Scuderia’s persistent attempts to acquire the services of this design legend over the past few decades.

As per the Daily Mail, it was confirmed as a finalized agreement.

According to Italian sources, Mail Sport has stated that his contract with the Scuderia, alongside Lewis Hamilton, has already been signed. The British publication further mentioned that another influential figure in the sport suggested that if the contract was not yet finalized, it would be soon.

However, Jordan disagrees and claims that it is simply untrue.

“On his Formula For Success podcast, Jordan confidently stated, ‘I can definitely stake my life on it – it’s completely inaccurate.'”

He further commented, expressing his disapproval of openly stating that [Newey] will be joining a specific team, specifically referring to Ferrari.

“I, as someone with knowledge, can assure you that no information is being disclosed during this conversation.”

“We will have discussions and continue to have discussions as we are still uncertain about Adrian’s own desires. He has been involved in this field since his university days, starting with his dream of becoming an engineer at Leyton House, McLaren, and Williams.”

“I am completely clueless, and let me emphasize, it will forever remain Adrian’s decision, as it should be.”

Back in March, Jordan mentioned that Fernando Alonso was contemplating retiring from F1 due to his recent acquisition of a new boat. If you’re curious about the reasons behind his decision, this may shed some light.

That, Jordan believes, is “often an indication to me because I know you [Coulthard] bought a boat at the time and then retired gracefully after that, and I did the same. People have a habit of buying boats and retiring.”

Instead of retiring, Alonso chose to sign a new contract with Aston Martin. It is still uncertain if Newey and his team will decide to leave Formula 1.

With 25 championship titles under his belt, making him the most successful designer in Formula 1 history, and two more expected this season with Red Bull, he has expressed his current lack of plans and a desire to dedicate some quality time to his beloved dogs and family.
