Sergio Perez will have completed his fifth year with Red Bull by 2025.
Red Bull have ended speculation over their 2025 line-up by confirming Sergio Perez will stay with the team for the next two seasons.
There had been much speculation about the future of Perez following his difficult end to 2023 and subsequently stalling 2024 season but Red Bull have kept the faith with the Mexican and awarded him a new deal.

In the beginning of 2024, Perez had a strong performance, supporting three Red Bull one-two victories led by Max Verstappen in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Japan. However, he has been unable to secure a podium finish in the past three races.
However, there was never any genuine indication that Red Bull had intentions to replace Perez, who also brings significant sponsorship to the team due to his Mexican heritage.
He expressed his joy in committing his future to this exceptional team, Oracle Red Bull Racing, stating that it presents a unique challenge both on and off the track. He expressed his delight in continuing the journey with the team and contributing to its remarkable history for another two years.
I absolutely adore being a part of this team, despite the immense challenges that come with it. This year, we are faced with an incredible challenge, but I have complete faith in the entire team. I firmly believe that the future looks promising for us, and I am thrilled to contribute my efforts towards it.

Christian Horner, the head of Red Bull, expressed the significance of securing our team’s lineup for 2025 and conveyed our delight in extending our collaboration with Checo.

“Checo has had an impressive beginning in 2024, securing second positions in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, followed by a podium finish in China. However, the recent races have posed challenges due to increased competition on the track. Nonetheless, we have full faith in Checo’s abilities and eagerly anticipate his return to his well-established form and outstanding performance, which we have witnessed countless times before.”

Perez, who started his Formula 1 career with Sauber in 2011, recently joined Red Bull as a replacement for Alex Albon in the 2021 season. This makes him the first driver to be signed by the team from outside their own talent pool since Mark Webber in 2007.
Perez, the Mexican driver, achieved his first victory for Red Bull in Baku after participating in only six races. Notably, Perez played a significant role in Verstappen’s successful quest for his first championship title.
In 2022, Perez achieved two more wins, triumphantly crossing the finish line in both the Monaco and Singapore races. His stellar performance continued into 2023, as he embarked on his most successful season start to date. Perez emerged victorious in two out of the first four races held in Jeddah and Baku.

After the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Perez found himself only six points behind Verstappen. However, his season took a drastic turn as he managed to reach Q3 in only one out of the next six races, putting his position with the team in serious jeopardy.
Red Bull remained steadfast in their decision to stick with Perez despite increasing demands to elevate Daniel Ricciardo alongside Verstappen in late 2023. This choice bore fruit as they enjoyed a string of four podium finishes in the first five races of the F1 2024 season.
Red Bull can find some stability in Perez’s stay as they recently announced that their design expert, Adrian Newey, will be departing the team in early F1 2025 after serving them for 19 years.
