Chantelle Cameron, the former undefeated female super-lightweight champion, is currently without a promoter.
Yesterday (May 1), the 32-year-old’s tenure with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing officially concluded as the promotional company issued a statement on Twitter/X.
Today, Matchroom Boxing is pleased to announce that we have successfully reached an agreement last month to release Chantelle Cameron from her promotional contract.

After Cameron announced in February that she would no longer be under Jamie Moore’s training and had joined Grant Smith’s gym in Sheffield, their amicable separation marks a new chapter in her career. Moore, alongside co-trainer Nigel Travis, played a vital role in Cameron’s path to undisputed victory in November 2022, where she triumphed over Jessica McCaskill, solidifying her status as the reigning champion from Northampton.

Six months later, “Il Capo” would surpass that achievement by defeating Katie Taylor on her home ground at the 3Arena in Dublin. This exceptional performance marked Cameron’s career peak as she successfully defended her four titles. However, in November of the previous year, Taylor retaliated at the same venue, equalizing their rivalry at 1-1.
Taylor, aged 37, opted for a rematch against Amanda Serrano, her previous rival, instead of pursuing a trilogy bout, which seemed highly probable. This rematch will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where Taylor will defend her super-lightweight belts. The event will be broadcast live on Netflix, just like their thrilling clash in April 2022 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Taylor’s decision has left Cameron needing to look elsewhere for an opponent but first she needs a new promoter. Boxing News understands a decision on her future will be announced soon.
