Sergio Perez’s wrecked Red Bull.
The on-board camera from Zhou Guanyu’s Sauber captured the absolute carnage caused by Sergio Perez and the Haas cars colliding at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Following a disappointing elimination in Q1, Perez faced a formidable challenge of securing points on the notoriously challenging Monaco track, known for its difficulty in overtaking. However, as he made his way up the hill out of Sainte Devote, he found himself being pursued by Kevin Magnussen in the Haas car.

However, Magnussen persisted in keeping the front of his Haas car in close proximity to Perez’s vehicle. As a result, a collision occurred, causing extensive damage to both cars except for the safety cell on Perez’s Red Bull. Unfortunately, this incident led to the elimination of Magnussen and his Haas teammate Nico Hulkenberg as well.
Luckily, all three individuals involved in the crash emerged unharmed. As a result of this significant collision, the race had to be temporarily halted, and the footage captured by Zhou’s Sauber provided a clearer visual representation of the extensive debris left on the track.

Upon surveying the condition of the Red Bull, it becomes evident that the impending repair will not come cheap. Senior advisor Helmut Marko has estimated the damage to be worth millions, which is far from desirable in the era of F1 cost restrictions. This unfortunate circumstance coincides with the fact that Red Bull is witnessing the encroachment of rivals such as McLaren and Ferrari.
Marko disclosed to Sky Deutschland that this is causing us a financial burden of approximately two to three million, which is a significant disadvantage considering the budget cap.

I’m grateful it turned out positively, but it was an urgent situation.
After the incident, the stewards concluded that no additional action was necessary, which brought relief to Magnussen as he is only two penalty points away from facing a one-race suspension.
