Alpine launch Deadpool & Wolverine-inspired Belgian Grand Prix livery

A ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ livery has been revealed by Alpine for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Alpine have unveiled a one-off livery for the Belgian Grand Prix, featuring a colour scheme centred around the new Marvel blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, released worldwide on Wednesday.

The release of the superhero film, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has been eagerly awaited by fans. To commemorate its worldwide debut, the team has decided to implement a unique color scheme for a limited time.

The film, starring Reynolds, a member of a large group of investors that secured a 24% stake in Alpine last year, sees the team run a predominantly red and black colour scheme, matching the suit of title character Deadpool, along with hints of the iconic slashes from X-Men character Wolverine, which Jackman first played back in 2000.

The livery also comes with a change of helmet colours for both Alpine drivers this weekend, with Esteban Ocon recreating the Deadpool mask with his one-off helmet, and Pierre Gasly switching to a yellow and black Wolverine inspired design.

Alpine broke away from their usual switching liveries of predominantly black and blue or black and pink colors this season by introducing a new design through an unveiling on their social media channels.

Reynolds is also known for his notable involvement in various business ventures. One of his well-known investments is his co-ownership of Wrexham AFC, a Welsh football club, alongside TV personality Rob McElhenney. Their journey has been documented in a docuseries that has recently been nominated for six Emmy Awards in the United States.

Heading into the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, Alpine currently holds the eighth position in the Constructors’ Championship. This race at Spa-Francorchamps marks the last event before Formula 1’s summer break.
