From 2017-2019, Swayman showcased his skills as a goaltender for the University of Maine for a total of three years. In the 2019-20 season, he was recognized for his outstanding performance by receiving both the prestigious Mike Richter Award, honoring him as the top collegiate goaltender, and the esteemed Hockey East Player of the Year award.
After that season, he joined the Bruins to embark on his professional career, yet it is evident that he has not let go of his origins.
