Is Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg back on for 2024? ‘Any time, any rules!’

Elon Musk has once again challenged his tech rival Mark Zuckerberg, urging him to engage in a confrontation.

Yesterday, in Washington D.C., the owner of Tesla and SpaceX attended Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to congress. As Musk was about to leave, a reporter approached him and inquired about the ongoing speculation regarding a potential conflict. Despite being halfway out the door, Musk decided to turn back and provide his response.

Musk boldly declared, “I am ready to challenge Zuckerberg in any location, at any given time, and under any set of rules.”

That’s all well and good, but will he fight Zuckerberg in a cage, which is where the Facebook founder wants the scrap to take place? UFC CEO Dana White said a battle of the billionaires in the UFC was a very real thing that almost happened in 2023. But after a lot of back-and-forth, the fight fell apart.

“Any place, any time, any rules.”

You may have heard reports that it was Elon Musk’s mother that pulled the plug on the fight. While she did very publicly tell her boy not to fight and told press the fight was canceled, it was some sort of neck and back issue on Musk’s part that scrapped a proposed August 26th bout between the two.

“I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on,” Zuckerberg wrote on his Twitter clone Threads in mid-August. “I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity. Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead.

“If Elon decides to pursue a genuine date and formal event, he has the means to contact me. Otherwise, it’s time for me to move forward.”

Last November, the CEO of Meta suffered a knee injury while training Brazilian jiujitsu. However, it appears that he has made a complete recovery since then.

Is Elon Musk in good health almost a year later, and is he truly prepared to embrace the fight? Or is he merely making bold claims without following through?
