How Adrian Newey’s big Red Bull exit could affect Lewis Hamilton

Imagine the incredible combination of a Ferrari F1 car meticulously crafted by the genius mind of Adrian Newey, with the unmatched skills and precision of Lewis Hamilton behind the wheel…

Adrian Newey departing Red Bull has led to a swathe of questions about what he could do next, and Sky Sports’ David Croft explained there could be a knock-on effect for Lewis Hamilton if he decided to join Ferrari.

Newey had joined Red Bull the year prior to Hamilton’s entry into the Formula 1 grid. The chief technology officer of Red Bull expressed his desire to have collaborated with both Hamilton and Fernando Alonso at some point, but unfortunately, it has not happened yet.

Adrian Newey to Ferrari with Lewis Hamilton? ‘What a force that would be’

Throughout his career, Newey has been connected to Ferrari on numerous occasions. The renowned designer has openly admitted to declining three separate offers from the Scuderia in both Formula 1 and IndyCar throughout the years.

However, a report from Italian media claimed that team boss Fred Vasseur was reportedly in London this week to try and discuss a fresh approach to bring Newey to Maranello.

Newey’s departure from Red Bull seems to be on good terms, implying that he might become a free agent by the first quarter of 2025. If he decides to continue in Formula 1, it is highly likely that Ferrari will show strong interest in acquiring his expertise.

If such a move occurs, Croft, Sky’s lead commentator, believes it could have a significant impact on Lewis Hamilton’s pursuit of a record-breaking eighth World Championship when he joins Ferrari in 2025.

Croft stated on Sky Sports News that there will be individuals who will attempt to entice Newey to join their team.

In the past, Ferrari has extended offers to sign Newey, but he has declined them. Aston Martin, on the other hand, has made a very bold and substantial bid to lure Adrian to their factory at Silverstone. They also aim to reunite him with their Group CEO Martin Whitmarsh, with whom Newey had collaborated during his time at McLaren.

“It is an immensely significant story. Despite Red Bull’s efforts to minimize it and argue that Newey is just an individual and cannot single-handedly make a decisive impact, Newey’s contribution holds exceptional weight in this case.”

The force that he is can be clearly seen through his record, numerous championship wins, and the design of cars that have secured over 200 Grands Prix victories throughout the years.

If Adrian Newey were to join Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time World Champion, at Ferrari, it could potentially become the most romantic chapter in Hamilton’s career. Deep down, I believe we all possess a hint of romance within us.

Imagine the magnitude of such a powerhouse! With Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, and Newey joining forces at Maranello, their collective aim would be to revive Ferrari’s golden era and assist Hamilton in clinching his eighth world championship, while potentially securing Leclerc his maiden title.
