The official fight poster for the upcoming UFC 305: “Du Plessis vs. Adesanya” pay-per-view event has been revealed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia. It’s refreshing to see a poster that is well-designed and appealing.
There’s been a lot of that going around these days.
This marks the first title defense for Dricus Du Plessis (21-2) since capturing the middleweight crown from Sean Strickland at UFC 297 earlier this year in Toronto. Similarly, Israel Adesanya (24-3) has not competed since losing his Strickland fight, a UFC 293 decision back in late 2023.
In UFC 305, fans can look forward to an exciting flyweight match-up between Kai Kara-France and Steve Erceg. Additionally, heavyweight powerhouse Tai Tuivasa will face off against former kickboxer Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Also, brace yourselves for a heavyweight slugfest as Junior Tafa and Valter Walker exchange blows at 265 pounds.
When questioned about Adesanya and Du Plessis, UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira expressed his opinion on YouTube, stating that he doesn’t foresee Adesanya losing. Pereira clarified that his viewpoint is not influenced by Adesanya’s previous statement about him and that he genuinely believes in Adesanya’s abilities. Pereira further added that he hopes Adesanya emerges victorious because of his inspiring journey and believes that he should continue writing his remarkable story.
