Lewis Hamilton makes Adrian Newey to Ferrari stance clear with shock Red Bull exit sealed

Is it possible for Adrian Newey to join Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari in 2025?

Lewis Hamilton would “very much” like to join forces with Adrian Newey at Ferrari after the shock announcement of his impending Red Bull exit.

Newey, the renowned design guru of Red Bull, who is considered one of the most accomplished F1 designers in history, has been officially announced to leave the team in the beginning of 2025. Although he has already concluded his work in the F1 domain, Newey will now dedicate his remaining tenure at Red Bull to the development of the RB17 hypercar project.

It is uncertain whether Newey will join another Formula 1 team in the future. However, Hamilton expresses a strong desire for Ferrari to successfully secure Newey’s services this time. Ferrari has made multiple attempts to acquire Newey before. This anticipation comes as Hamilton gets ready to switch from Mercedes to Ferrari next year.

When asked by the media about the possibility of Newey joining him at Ferrari for the Miami Grand Prix, Hamilton expressed his strong desire for it.

“Adrian’s exceptional track record, impressive experience in team engagement, and vast knowledge make him a remarkable candidate. I believe his addition would be incredible.”

“I believe they already possess an exceptional team that is making remarkable advancements. Their car has demonstrated greater speed this year. Undoubtedly, collaborating with him would be an honor.”

“If I were to create a list of individuals whom I would adore collaborating with, he would undoubtedly occupy the highest position.”

Once Newey becomes a free agent, it is highly unlikely that any team on the grid would not be interested in securing his services, especially considering Red Bull’s remarkable domination of F1’s ground effect era.

Given this, Hamilton was questioned about the possibility of his current team, Mercedes, being competitive in the race due to their ongoing difficulties in challenging Red Bull.

“I don’t know if they are making an effort,” Hamilton replied. “I am unaware of who is putting in the effort. I cannot provide any information on that.”

When asked about Newey’s potential involvement in his discussions with Ferrari, Hamilton remained silent, just as he did on other matters.

Hamilton had already signed a multi-year contract with Ferrari before the F1 2024 campaign commenced. The discussions and eventual confirmation of Newey’s departure from Red Bull only gained momentum after the team faced a major off-track controversy earlier in the season.

Hamilton made it clear that he couldn’t disclose the content of the discussions.

Max Verstappen, the three-time World Champion for Red Bull, is currently leading the Drivers’ Championship as he prepares for the Miami Grand Prix. He is determined to secure his fifth victory of the season.
