Giants @ Dodgers Analysis & Breakdown

Clayton Kershaw makes his long awaited season debut tonight.

It’s late July and the Dodgers are coming off a brutal loss to their division rival, the Giants. They lost 8-3 last night, after winning both Game 1 & 2 of this series.

Tonight marks the last game os this series at Dodger Stadium, but more importantly it marks the return of their Ace; Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw has missed the entire season because of off-season shoulder surgery, but it seems like his rehabilitation is progressing well. I don’t think he will pitch for more than 5 innings, but his return is a much-needed morale boost following last night’s defeat.

The Dodgers are now 5-1 since the All-Star break despite the poor play of Shohei Ohtani. He’s batting 0.217 with just 1 home run in six games.

He has played three games against the Giants, in which he has only managed to go 2 for 12 with just one walk.

In order for the Dodgers to secure a victory tonight, they will require Ohtani to reverse the current situation.
