Barrett Hayton signed a two-year, $5.3 million contract with the Utah Hockey Club on Monday. It has an average annual value of $2.65 million.

Last season, the Arizona Coyotes’ 24-year-old forward, who was a restricted free agent, managed to accumulate 10 points from three goals and seven assists in 33 games.

Utah general manager Bill Armstrong expressed his utmost satisfaction in securing Barrett for an extended period. He emphasized Barrett’s exceptional abilities as a dependable two-way center, particularly highlighting his proficiency in face-offs. Armstrong also acknowledged Barrett’s invaluable contribution in complementing the skillful forwards within the team. The organization eagerly anticipates Barrett’s return, recognizing the positive impact he brings.

Hayton, chosen by Arizona as the No. 5 draft pick in 2018, has accumulated a total of 84 points (35 goals and 49 assists) throughout 209 games. In the 2022-23 season, he reached his highest career statistics in goals (19), assists (24), and points (43) after participating in 82 games.
