After a facial injury sustained during a night out in Amsterdam, Lando Norris appears significantly different and may be difficult to recognize.
Sporting a mummy-esque bandage around his face for what turned out to be a small cut, DJ Martin Garrix says Lando Norris’ nose injury was made out to be “crazier” than it was.
During the break between the Chinese Grand Prix and Miami, Norris accompanied his good friend Garrix in Amsterdam to celebrate Koningsdag (King’s Day) with a DJ party.
‘Everyone thought I broke his nose or something’
However, the festivities hit a slight snag when Norris accidentally injured his nose on a piece of broken glass.
The McLaren driver, despite having a mummy-like bandage wrapped around his head and traces of blood on his shirt, appeared cheerful in photos shared on social media.
Days later, at the start of the Miami Grand Prix, Norris showcased the true severity of his injury as he entered the paddock. Instead of the mummy-like bandages, he now sported a small plaster.
According to Garrix, it wasn’t as wild as it had been rumored.
During his interview with Virgin Radio Dubai, he mentioned that everyone exaggerated the situation beyond its actual level of craziness.
On the boat, there was a broken glass. Throughout our partying, he decided to take a sip from the glass. Unfortunately, the upper part of the glass caused a small cut on his nose.
However, due to the location of his cut, it was bleeding profusely.
No one’s perception was accurate as they believed I had caused harm to his nose, which was far from the truth.
After applying bandaids to his nose, he rapidly transformed into a mummy-like figure, and in no time, someone captured a photo of him. The image quickly gained immense popularity and went viral.
Fortunately, although the entire world beheld that photograph and initially perceived it as outrageously terrible, it was merely a minor blemish.

Norris’s first F1 victory in Miami was attributed to the fortunate occurrence of an injury and the presence of former US President Donald Trump.
Arriving in Miami, McLaren driver Norris openly acknowledges that his long-awaited win has relieved him of a significant burden. Prior to this victory, he held the unfortunate distinction of having the most podium finishes without a Grand Prix win.
He stated, “Although I desire to decline, I must admit that it is indeed a positive response. Achieving that initial triumph is truly remarkable. And undoubtedly, there have been occasions when we came close, but I was unable to transform it into a victory.”
However, I remained unfazed. Despite the skepticism surrounding my ability to assemble everything and emerge victorious in a race, I remained unconcerned.
This year, I have gained a heightened sense of confidence in myself and my team’s abilities.
I approached it with patience. I have consistently focused on carrying out my job, performing my races and qualifications to the best of my abilities.
“I could sense that my moment was approaching. I mentioned it this morning, acknowledging that it’s rare for me to feel hopeful about things. However, throughout the entire weekend, there was a certain presence, almost like a warm-up with practice and qualifiers. We were in close proximity and performed exceptionally well on Friday, and that ignited a certain spark within me.”
“And perhaps we lost our momentum a bit on Saturday, but today it certainly regained strength and transformed into a fiery spirit. So, yes, it was truly an incredible race.”
