As of today, Corbin holds the third-lowest pitcher rating, as reported by Batters-Box.com. Additionally, he faces the formidable Diamondbacks, who possess the third highest average hitter matchup rating classified as elite. A complete offense with an average elite rating is undeniably enticing.
This season, the Nationals’ starting pitcher has maintained his typical performance, recording a 5.84 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. In eight out of his 14 starts, he has allowed opposing teams to score over 2.5 runs.
The team average of Arizona against Corbin stands at a reliable .281, accompanied by an OPS of .751. Amongst the players, Eugenio Suarez, Randal Grichuk, and Kevin Newman have encountered the 34-year-old left-hander the most. Out of the three, Suarez has achieved the greatest triumph, securing eight hits in 21 plate appearances and an impressive OPS of 1.006.
The Diamondbacks have shown strong performance in the initial five innings, with an average of 3.05 runs per game, ranking them third overall. Even on the road, they maintain a solid average of 2.78 runs. Impressively, in their most recent three games, they have boosted their average to 5.33 runs. It is our hope that Arizona can continue this trend by attacking Corbin early and frequently, resulting in a satisfying mid-afternoon victory for our team.

As with the bet above, we are taking full advantage of pitchers with awful matchups today. Tamps Bay Rays Starter Taj Bradley comes in today with the worst pitcher matchup rating on Batters-Box.com. Minnesota has the highest average hitter matchup rating, having six elite hitters along, most notable being Royce Lewis, who is the highest-rated hitter on today’s slate. The Twins also have zero hitters above league ground ball rate and the highest hard contact rate.
Today, Royce Lewis reached a significant milestone, participating in his 81st career game. His performance in these games has been nothing short of extraordinary, with his 162-game pace numbers displaying astonishing levels of excellence.

In the seven starts Bradley has made this season, he has allowed over 1.5 runs in four games. This is a significant statistic, considering the Twins’ average, which surpasses this number both at home and on the road. At home, their performance is particularly impressive, scoring an average of 2.65 runs per game.
Bradley has had his ups and downs all season and has not been very consistent, so I will happily ride this play, especially for a team with six elite hitters in both the default and current ratings. Trust the process, and let’s enjoy some runs!
