Canucks Announce 2024 Training Camp in Penticton

Penticton, BC | The Vancouver Canucks announced today that their 2024 Training Camp will be held in Penticton, BC, from Thursday, September 19th to Sunday, September 22nd. All on-ice sessions will take place at the South Okanagan Events Centre, home of the Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic and the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Besides the daily skates, the team will also play a Blue – White scrimmage on Sunday. This is the first time training camp will be held in Penticton since the fall of 2010.

Jim Rutherford, President of Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Hockey Operations, stated that it is logical for their organization to stay in Penticton for training camp after Young Stars. He mentioned that the facilities are excellent, the fans in the region are passionate, and the players, coaches, and staff truly enjoy what the city and region have to offer. He emphasized their commitment to growing the game province-wide and their enjoyment of taking their camp to different cities in British Columbia. Rutherford expressed excitement about connecting with their fan base in the Okanagan and using the on-ice sessions to establish the standard and structure necessary for the beginning of another season.

Starting from 1974, the Canucks have conducted their Training Camp in various communities throughout British Columbia. These include Abbotsford, Courtenay, Duncan, Kamloops, Parksville, Penticton, Powell River, Prince George, Vernon, Victoria, and Whistler. Additionally, the team once ventured overseas for their Training Camp, making a trip to Stockholm, Sweden in 2000.
