In the Round of 16, they miraculously advanced by tying the game on the final kick and winning in extra time against Slovakia. In the Quarterfinals, after a grueling 75-minute battle, England found themselves trailing 1-0 against Switzerland. However, they rallied and equalized shortly after, ultimately progressing in Penalty Kicks. Now, they find themselves in the EURO Semifinals for the second consecutive tournament.
The Dutch team secured a solid 3rd place in their group, showcasing their strength against tough opponents like Poland and France. Although they faced a defeat against group winners Austria, they bounced back with impressive victories over Romania in the Round of 16 and Turkey in the Quarterfinals. The Netherlands’ scoring prowess has been evident, with 7 goals in their last 3 matches and a total of 9 goals throughout their EURO campaign. This team has consistently displayed their strength, and I have been closely following them since the beginning of the tournament.

Initially, I had my focus on three teams as the tournament kicked off. Spain, who has made it to the final, along with England and the Netherlands. As we approach the EURO Title Match, which will showcase two of our anticipated contenders, my inclination slightly favors the Dutch.
A wise individual has drawn a comparison between England and last year’s Kansas City Chiefs. Despite not displaying remarkable performance and not playing their best soccer, both teams have managed to find ways to win. In knockout stages, winning and progressing is the ultimate goal. However, in my opinion, England has finally encountered a formidable opponent. Despite their strong motivation from being the Runner Ups in 2020, they have failed to impress. To overcome the Dutch team and advance, they will need to significantly improve their game, which I personally believe is unlikely to happen.
In their last three matches, the Dutch team has scored a total of 7 goals while only conceding 5 throughout the tournament. I personally doubt that the English team has the offensive capability to penetrate the solid defense of the Netherlands. With Virgil Van Dijk and Stefan de Vrij guarding the Dutch backline, I believe they will easily handle the English attackers. Right from the beginning of the tournament, I have considered Spain as the likely champion and the Netherlands as the unexpected contender. Since the start of the knockout stage, I have consistently predicted a Spain vs Netherlands final, and I am confident in placing my bet on that outcome today.

Conversely, we doubted a team that had struggled to score and lacked offensive prowess. England, for instance, has only scored twice in a single game during this tournament, and it took them nearly 120 minutes to do so. They were very close to not having the opportunity at all. In my opinion, the Dutch team will score today, thus England will need to score at least one or two goals to keep up. However, I personally don’t believe they have the capability to do so.
The Dutch team needs to push themselves and secure victory within 90 minutes, ensuring their spot in the EURO 2024 Title Match against Spain.
