Not only has Miller been giving up a lot of runs, but he’s had his share of control issues this year. He’s walked 15 batters through six starts, and he’s walked 3 or more batters in 4 of his 6 starts.

On the road it gets even worse for Miller, he’s got a 9.64 ERA and he’s averaging just under 3 walks per game.

At the moment, Schwarber ranks third among all MLB players in walks received, recording a 0.373 on-base percentage (14th place) with a total of 59 walks. Interestingly, he is the sole player within the top 15 OBP rankings who has a batting average below 0.268.

Schwarby is renowned for his powerful swings, making him a challenging opponent for pitchers. Additionally, considering Miller’s difficulties against left-handed batters this year, I am particularly excited about this matchup for Schwarby.

He’s been the Red Sox best player, and he’s the biggest reason why they’re now in the hunt for the Wild Card. Boston’s won six of their last seven games and Devers has been phenomenal.

Devers’ posted a 0.303 batting average with 4 home runs and 12 RBI during this span and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

He’s batting 0.316 since the beginning of June, he’s recorded 11 home runs, 29 RBI and 27 runs scored; the Red Sox are 20-11 in that same time frame.

To put it mildly, Joey Estes, his opponent in the game, has been performing poorly. His road ERA stands at 7.00 and left-handed hitters have been able to achieve a batting average of 0.264 against him, accompanied by a 0.527 SLG.

Rafael’s been crushing righties this year, posting a 0.317 batting average and 0.688 SLG (18 HR). He’s also been great at home with 9 of his 21 home runs coming at Fenway Park, despite 18 fewer at-bats.
