‘Please don’t’ – Lando Norris responds to ‘bold’ fan promise if key F1 milestone is achieved

Lando Norris talks to the media.

Lando Norris found himself chatting with a superfan over the radio, but was left far from comfortable with the promise of getting a tattoo of Norris’ face should he become World Champion.

Norris got the world of Formula 1 talking with his huge upset victory at the Miami Grand Prix, that representing the Brit’s first win at long last, on what was his 110th grand prix start.

‘Please don’t’ – Lando Norris not liking face tattoo idea

However, the wild celebrations have come to an end and Norris is now focused on getting back to work. He is preparing for the upcoming battle at Imola, where everyone is eagerly awaiting to see if the upgraded McLaren MCL38, which he successfully drove to victory in Miami, can truly rival the Red Bull RB20.

Prior to that, Norris featured on the BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast show alongside presenter Greg James. They engaged in a game called ‘Unpopular Opinion’, where listeners offered unpopular opinions for Norris to react to.

One of the opinions that gained significant traction and spread rapidly was sparked by listener Emma, who expressed her belief that having an F1 tattoo is distasteful.

As she disclosed, it was her partner David who truly admires Norris and proudly sports his signature LN logo tattoo on his leg. Norris himself described it as a daring choice. However, it seems that David’s boldness may not stop there, as he contemplates the possibility of adding a Norris face tattoo to his collection.

Norris handed the phone to David and inquired, “So, what was the reason behind your decision to get this tattoo?”

He responded, “You are the one who introduced me to F1 and you are my favorite driver on the race track, that’s why I got it tattooed on my leg.”

Greg James had a brilliant idea after witnessing Norris’ unexpected victory in Miami. He proposed a deal to David, suggesting that if Norris were to become the World Champion (an accomplishment that many believe is within his grasp), Greg would get a tattoo of Norris’ face. David’s response was a simple, “Sure, why not?”

Maybe Norris strongly dislikes the idea, don’t you think?

Norris responded by saying, “I would say I don’t like it.”

I kindly request that you refrain from tattooing my face on your body. I sincerely ask you not to do so.

David also playfully offered Norris a complimentary ride in a tank whenever he pleased, jokingly suggesting that he should “bring it to Silverstone and utilize it if Max [Verstappen] happens to be in the lead”.

Even though Norris caused a setback, Verstappen remains in a comfortable lead in the Drivers’ Championship with a 33-point advantage over Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez in second place.
