They are only 2 games behind the Mariners in the AL West, and I believe they will begin this series with strong momentum.
After securing five consecutive victories, Texas experienced a loss against the Angels on Wednesday. However, the team has faced difficulties while playing away games this year. As this series marks the final one before a break, I anticipate that the Rangers might become preoccupied with thoughts of vacation. Despite returning to Texas after their trip to California, they were unable to fully settle back home before heading to Houston.
Andrew Heaney has faced the Astros twice and has struggled, giving up 8 runs on 8 hits and 7 walks in just 7.1 innings. The Astros won both of those games. Despite coming off a good start, Heaney may have a tough time tonight as the Astros have the best team average at home and overall, suggesting they will likely hit and score runs against him. On the other hand, Hunter Brown had a rough start against the Rangers but has recently turned things around, winning four consecutive starts and allowing only 1 run (a solo home run) in a total of 25 innings. Considering his recent success, I expect Brown to have a strong performance at home tonight against the Rangers.
