RELEASE: Oilers acquire Roby Jarventie from Senators

In exchange for prospects Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson, Edmonton acquires the Finnish forward from Ottawa along with their fourth-round pick at the 2025 NHL Draft.

EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Roby Jarventie from the Ottawa Senators as well as Ottawa’s fourth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft in exchange for forwards Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson.

In the 2020 NHL Draft, the Senators chose Jarventie as their second-round pick (33rd overall). Standing at 6’2″ and weighing 214 lbs., he made his presence known in seven games for Ottawa during the previous season, contributing with one assist.

Over the course of 136 games, the 21-year-old Finnish player from Tampere, known for his left-shot abilities, has played for the Belleville Senators in the American Hockey League. During his time with the team, he has recorded an impressive total of 38 goals and 48 assists across four seasons.
