Sharks re-sign forward Brandon Coe
San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has signed forward Brandon Coe to a one-year, two-way contract.
In the American Hockey League (AHL), Coe, who is 22 years old, participated in 57 games for the San Jose Barracuda. At the end of the season, he achieved personal bests in both points (17) and goals (12). Coe had two games where he earned multiple points, one on October 20th against Henderson (one goal, one assist) and another on March 20th against San Diego (one goal, one assist). Coe had a strong start to the season, accumulating five points (four goals, one assist) in the first six games.
Coe recorded a total of 16 points (five goals and 11 assists) in 56 games during his debut full AHL season in 2022-23. On October 22, 2022, he scored two goals against Henderson, marking one of four games in the season where he earned multiple points. Throughout his AHL career, spanning 130 games, Coe has accumulated a total of 38 points, including 18 goals and 20 assists.
Before beginning his professional career, Coe spent four seasons playing for the North Bay Battalion in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). During his time in the OHL, he accumulated 218 points, with 86 goals and 132 assists, in a total of 250 games. In his last year, he was named to the OHL First All-Star Team and was recognized as the OHL Overage Player of the Year. Coe had his best season in 2021-22, achieving career highs of 101 points, 34 goals, and 67 assists. He led his team in assists and finished second in both points and goals. Additionally, Coe participated in 17 AHL games in the 2020-21 season, contributing a total of five points, with one goal and four assists.
The six-foot-four, 188-pound Toronto, Ontario native was selected by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Draft (fourth round, 98th overall).
