Stars sign Emil Hemming to a three-year entry-level contract
During his rookie season in 2023-24, the forward, standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, recorded a total of seven goals and 11 points in 40 regular-season games.
FRISCO, Texas — Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed forward Emil Hemming to a three-year entry-level contract. The contract will begin in the 2024-25 season.
During the 2023-24 season, as a rookie in Finland’s premier professional league, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward managed to score seven goals and accumulate a total of 11 points (7 goals and 4 assists) across 40 regular-season games. Hemming’s goal tally placed him in seventh position among his team, while his point total ranked him ninth among all rookie players in the league. In addition, he also participated in 13 games for TPS’ U20 team, where he scored 11 goals, securing the fifth position on the team’s scoring chart, and earned a total of 18 points (11 goals and 7 assists).
Hemming, hailing from Vaasa, Finland, proudly represented his nation at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship. Throughout five games, he showcased his exceptional skills by leading the team with four goals and securing the third spot in points with a total of 6 (4-2—6). Moreover, Hemming also contributed to Finland’s performance at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship, earning two points (0-2—2) across seven games.
At the 2024 NHL Draft, held in Las Vegas, Nevada at Sphere, the forward was chosen as the 29th overall pick in the first round.
