Not so baddy! Paddy Pimblett defends UFC 304 after Conor McGregor suggests it’s barely PPV-worthy

On July 27th, UFC 304 will take place in Manchester, England, showcasing two U.K. champions defending their titles. However, Conor McGregor doesn’t seem particularly impressed with the main event featuring Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.

“There’s too many decisions going on now with that Leon fella,” McGregor said back in May during a DuelBits Q&A. “Leon Edwards loves a decision. Then he’s fighting another decision guy, your man Belal. Not great times in the welterweight title picture.”

Mac is the king of UFC PPV sales, and he sees UFC 304 performing poorly (but still better than Diaz vs. Masvidal).

It’s highly unlikely that it will reach 200,000 buys, maybe even less. If it does become a pay-per-view, it might only reach around 150,000 buys. But honestly, it’s doubtful that it will even become a pay-per-view.

Conor McGregor talks a potential fight with Leon Edwards, and says the titles that excite him are the 170 belt and the BMF belt.

“Leon Edwards, Nate Diaz almost knocked him out, had him out on his feet… also Cerrone went the distance with him…

In a new interview with Best Online Poker Sites, Paddy Pimblett came to the defense of UFC 304, which features his return against Bobby Green on the main card.

Pimblett exclaimed, “Honestly, Conor’s suggestion is absolutely incredible. In my opinion, it is the most outstanding event the UFC has ever organized in the UK.”

There’s a highly anticipated welterweight title fight rematch between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. The rematch is generating a lot of interest due to Belal’s recent streak of wins. Another rematch that fans are eagerly awaiting is between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes. In their previous encounter, Tom suffered a knee injury within just 20 seconds. The desire to witness this fight again is strong among fans.

“He’s suggesting that my fight against Bobby Green could easily headline a Fight Night card,” he added. “And let’s not forget the exciting match between Arnold Allen and Giga Chikadze, which is bound to be a thrilling showdown. I don’t understand what he’s talking about there. It’s a crazy statement, but I’m also a big fan of Conor.”

To be fair, most of the smack from McGregor was aimed at Leon Edwards, who holds the third belt Mac hopes to claim someday soon. UFC 304 was just caught in the crossfire as Conor panned “Rocky’s” ability to sell. He wasn’t all negative about the card.

He expressed that he believes the fight between Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall is a favorable matchup.

Now all U.K. fans have to do is manage to stay up late enough to watch it.
