Drury signs 2-year, $3.45 million contract with Hurricanes

The forward, who is 24 years old, managed to avoid salary arbitration after scoring 27 points in the previous season.

Jack Drury signed a two-year, $3.45 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $1.725 million.

Last Friday, the forward, aged 24 and a restricted free agent, submitted a request for salary arbitration. Throughout the previous season, he accumulated 27 points (eight goals and 19 assists) in 74 regular-season games, along with five points (one goal and four assists) in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

“Last season, Jack made remarkable progress in establishing himself as a vital member of our forward group,” expressed Hurricanes general manager, Eric Tulsky. “His unwavering dedication and exceptional skills in both offensive and defensive play make him a dependable asset in all game scenarios. We eagerly anticipate witnessing his ongoing development in Carolina.”

Drury, who was chosen by the Hurricanes as the No. 42 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, has recorded a total of 37 points (12 goals and 25 assists) throughout 114 regular-season games. In addition, he has contributed eight points (one goal and seven assists) over the course of 24 playoff games.
