Shakur Stevenson to meet with Eddie Hearn, tells potential promoters to deliver “big fights”

Shakur Stevenson, the uninhibited agent, is scheduled to have a meeting with Eddie Hearn on Monday (July 15), in his relentless pursuit of securing the most favorable agreement for his career.

According to Hearn, the 27-year-old boxer concluded his tenure with Top Rank by defeating Artem Harutyunyan eight days ago to become a three-weight world champion. Despite receiving criticism for his performance, Stevenson achieved significant viewership and attendance numbers on television and at the gate.

After a meeting with Oscar De La Hoya from Golden Boy Promotions, Stevenson is considering the possibility of joining Mayweather Promotions. However, Hearn and Matchroom Boxing have now shown interest in signing him. The WBC lightweight champion emphasizes the importance of his next promoter’s ability to deliver.

Stevenson expressed his desire for intense battles to DAZN’s Chris Mannix.

“I see numerous renowned fighters in the ring. William Zepeda, Gervonta Davis, and Vasiliy Lomachenko, to name a few. My aspiration is to engage in the most prestigious and significant battles that exist.”

Zepeda, who is backed by Golden Boy promotions, holds the top spot as the lightweight contender in all four sanctioning bodies. Stevenson was requested to share his evaluation of his Mexican opponent.

“Hell of a fighter,” he replied.

In my professional career, I haven’t encountered a fighter quite like him in the ring. His flurry of punches is impressive, and his unique style sets him apart. However, facing someone of his caliber would undoubtedly bring out the best in me.

Jaron Ennis, Hearn’s recently signed welterweight world champion, was defending his title against David Avanesyan at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday night. Stevenson, who has an undefeated record, was also present at the event.

Stevenson said, “It brings me joy to see everyone out after me.”

“I haven’t made any decisions yet. I am eagerly looking forward to sitting at the table and discussing with them to evaluate the best options and setup that suit me. It will help me determine the next steps to take.”
