RALEIGH, N.C. – Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has re-signed forward Jack Drury to a two-year, $3.45 million contract extension. The deal will pay Drury an average-annual value (AAV) of $1.725 million through 2025-2026.

“Jack took tremendous steps last season to solidify himself as a key part of our forward group,” said Tulsky. “He is an extremely hard worker at both ends of the ice who can be relied upon at all situations, and we are excited to watch his continued growth in Carolina.”

In the 2023-24 NHL season, Drury, a 24-year-old center, had an impressive performance with the Carolina team. In 74 games, he recorded 27 points, consisting of 8 goals and 19 assists. This marked his personal best in various categories, including games played, goals, assists, points, power-play goals (2), and power-play points (7). Additionally, he ranked second on the team with a faceoff win percentage of 55.3% (minimum 10 draws) and was one of only two Hurricanes players to receive multiple fighting majors (2) during the regular season.

During the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Drury continued to excel, contributing five points (1 goal, 4 assists) and achieving a team-high +7 rating in 11 games. He scored his first career postseason goal in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the NY Islanders, making him the fourth player in franchise history to have his first playoff goal result in a series victory.

Throughout his NHL career, which spans parts of the last three seasons, Drury has accumulated 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists) in 114 games. In the postseason, he has earned eight points (1 goal, 7 assists) in 24 appearances.

Before his professional career, Drury played in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Chicago team, where he recorded 76 points (31 goals, 45 assists) in 105 games. In the 2022 Calder Cup playoffs, he contributed 24 points (9 goals, 15 assists) in 18 games, helping the Wolves secure the championship title.

Drury also had a successful stint in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), playing for the Vaxjo Lakers in the 2020-21 season. In 41 games, he tallied 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) and added 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in 14 playoff games, aiding the team in winning their third league title.

During his time at Harvard University from 2018-2020, Drury showcased his skills, accumulating 63 points (29 goals, 34 assists) in 60 collegiate contests.

On the international stage, Drury has represented the United States in various tournaments. He won a silver medal at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship and a bronze medal at the 2021 IIHF World Championship.

Drury was selected by the Carolina team in the second round, 42nd overall, of the 2018 NHL Draft. He hails from New York, N.Y.
