Mark Leach has been appointed as the Director of Amateur Scouting for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as announced by the hockey club today.

After spending 11 seasons with the Dallas Stars Amateur Scouting staff, Leach has now joined the Maple Leafs. In Dallas, he worked closely with the Stars’ Director of Amateur Scouting to ensure successful drafting endeavors for the team. Leach’s NHL career began as an Amateur Scout with the Detroit Red Wings, where he dedicated 20 seasons from 1994 to 2013. During his tenure with the Red Wings, Leach played a significant role in assembling the winning rosters that led the team to Stanley Cup victories in 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2008. Alongside his NHL scouting experience, Leach also served as an NCAA assistant coach for four seasons, dividing his time between Michigan Tech (1990-91 to 1992-93) and Boston College (1993-94).

Leach played for St. Lawrence University (NCAA) for four seasons, from 1980-81 to 1983-84. Throughout his collegiate career, he accumulated 69 points, scoring 15 goals and providing 54 assists in a total of 127 NCAA games.
