Nashville, Tenn. (July 18, 2024) – Nashville Predators General Manager Barry Trotz announced today that the team has signed defenseman Adam Wilsby to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level. 

Wilsby, born on August 7, 2000, is a 23-year-old defenseman who recently finished his second full season with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals. Throughout the season, he achieved a personal best of 21 points (8 goals and 13 assists) in 61 games played. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 188 pounds, Wilsby tied for the most goals among Milwaukee’s defensemen, scoring eight goals, two of which were game-winners during the 2023-24 season. Additionally, he ranked fourth in points among the team’s defensemen and seventh overall in plus-minus (+17). Wilsby played a significant role in guiding the Admirals to the Western Conference Final for the second consecutive year, contributing three assists in 15 games. Over his two seasons with Milwaukee, Wilsby has participated in 133 games and accumulated 39 points (9 goals and 30 assists).

Wilsby was originally selected by the Predators in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He played 109 games in the SHL for Skellefteå from 2018-22 before making the move to North America. In his first full professional season in 2020-21, the Stockholm, Sweden native tallied 18 points (6 goals, 12 assists) in 48 games, making him the second-highest scoring defenseman on the team. He also contributed two assists in 12 postseason games. Prior to his time in the SHL, Wilsby spent four seasons with Skellefteå’s U-20 team from 2016-20. He served as an alternate captain during the 2018-19 season. In the 2019-20 season, he played for Södertälje in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-highest professional league in Sweden, recording 30 points (3 goals, 27 assists) in 41 games. His 27 assists were the most by a U-20 player in the HockeyAllsvenskan that season.
