Blues announce transfer of partial ownership interest
Under Tom Stillman’s leadership, the club will continue to have local ownership.
Today, St. Louis Blues Chairman Tom Stillman revealed a modification in the ownership group of the team. David Steward, who was part of Stillman’s original group that acquired the Blues in 2012, has officially transferred his partial ownership stake to Michael W. Riney, a lifelong resident of St. Louis.
The transfer ensures that the Blues’ ownership structure remains entirely local.
According to Stillman, “Back in 2012, we formed a St. Louis-based ownership group, and Dave Steward played a vital role in it. Since then, he has consistently provided unwavering support, and we truly appreciate his dedication to both the Blues and the city of St. Louis.”
We are excited to announce the addition of Michael Riney to our ownership group. Just like all our members, Michael shares a deep love for the Blues and a devoted commitment to St. Louis. As we strive for a successful 2024-25 season, the rest of the group will remain unchanged.
Riney and his wife, Quirsis, are the founders and managing directors of QRM Capital. Their company specializes in private investments and philanthropy, specifically in the St. Louis area. Both Michael and Quirsis actively support various local civic organizations. Furthermore, Michael holds positions on the boards of Washington University, the Danforth Plant Science Center, and the Missouri Botanical Garden.
Donn Lux, Jerald Kent, James Cooper, Jo Ann Taylor Kindle, Steve Maritz, Edward Potter, Andrew Taylor, James Kavanaugh, John Danforth, Christopher Danforth, Jim Johnson III, Scott McCuaig, John Ross Jr., and Tom Schlafly are also part of the Blues’ all-local ownership group, along with Stillman and Riney.
