Virna Jandiroba may have locked down her first UFC title shot earlier tonight (Sat., July 20, 2024) at UFC Vegas 94 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the Brazilian contender stunned Amanda Lemos with a gnarly second-round submission (armbar).

Jandiroba wasted no time in capitalizing on Lemos’ outstanding skills as a top-tier striker in the women’s strawweight division. Among these wins, her debut UFC event showcased a remarkable submission finish, while she also secured significant victories against notable opponents Marina Rodriguez and Loopy Godinez. Notably, Jandiroba remains one of the few ranked fighters in the women’s strawweight division that current champion Zhang Weili has yet to face. Considering this, scheduling a title fight between them before the year concludes seems like a logical move.
