The season concluded with Verstappen controversially dethroning Lewis Hamilton in Abu Dhabi, as he and Red Bull remained largely unchallenged throughout the past two seasons.

However, McLaren’s recent form – which saw Norris claim his first F1 victory in Miami before running Verstappen close at Imola, finishing just 0.725 seconds behind at the chequered flag – has created fresh hope of a multi-team battle at the front of the grid.

Norris, despite being 60 points behind Verstappen in the Drivers’ standings, remains optimistic about his chances for the title. He believes that there is still a significant amount of time left in the F1 2024 season and that anything can happen in the remaining races.

In an interview with various media outlets, including PlanetF1.com, Verstappen expressed his belief that Red Bull’s extensive experience of consistently being at the forefront in the racing world makes them a formidable force in a championship battle.

When asked about his competitive edge over rivals, Verstappen expressed, “Commenting on that is something I find quite challenging.”

Based on my Formula 1 experience, I believe that with time, one gains a significant amount of expertise and becomes more adept at managing specific situations.

“Moreover, having been at the forefront for several years and operating as a cohesive team, I believe we can have a significant impact on teams striving to achieve the same.”

“We strive to remain composed and composed amidst the knowledge that in recent races, teams have either caught up to us or surpassed us. Consequently, it is only natural that we too aspire to enhance our performance.”

“We have gained considerable experience over the past few years, which has made us an extremely formidable team in the Championship. Our ability to minimize mistakes sets us apart and makes it challenging for opponents to defeat us.”

You consistently strive to optimize every aspect of your life, always seeking improvement and growth. You have a strong commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.

“However, I believe this quality truly renders us formidable contenders in a championship bout.”

Verstappen acknowledged that McLaren and Norris have proven to be a worthy competitor for Red Bull in recent weeks. He emphasized that they should aim high and set ambitious goals. Furthermore, Verstappen asserted that he will not alter his approach in the face of a stronger opposition.

Norris expressed his thoughts on ambitions by stating, “I believe it is crucial for everyone to adopt such a mindset, particularly considering the impressive performances in the last two races, where they have truly been competitive.”

While they are currently trailing by a significant number of points, there is still hope for a turnaround if they begin winning unexpectedly.

“We continue to strive for enhancing our package, and my approach has consistently remained unchanged from our end.”

The involvement of others or another team is irrelevant. Our sole focus should be on ourselves, as that is the only aspect we have control over.
