The Hull Box Cup took place from June 28th to June 30th, and the participants from HEBDEN Bridge boxing club showcased their skills. Out of the seven boxers representing Hebden, they proudly returned home with two gold medals and one silver.

Day One: Kai Fenton, competing for the first season as a senior 75 kg, faced off on Friday against the much more experienced Kai Morley from Clayton ABC. Fenton, for Hebden Bridge, was having his 30th bout, and Morley was having his 88th; Fenton came through with a unanimous win.

Day Two: Kai was up against another more experienced boxer, Tommy Naismith from York ABC. These two have boxed three times previously; Kai came away with another unanimous win, after three close rounds.

Day Three: The final and Kai was up against another more experienced boxer who had 63 bouts and was an England international. Kai turned on the style to win by another unanimous decision, not dropping a round all weekend, which was some achievement as he was a big underdog at the beginning of the competition.

Kayne Miles Junior, weighing 60 kg, clinched the second gold medal in boxing. He competed in the final against Yehor Harimlend from Sheffield City ABC. Despite a closely contested match, Kayne emerged victorious, securing the win through a split decision.

For the second consecutive year, Robin Moss secured a silver medal. Making his debut as a senior in the 60KG category, Robin faced Lucas Butfield from York ABC on Saturday.

In the initial round, the two boxers collided heads, leading the doctor to stop the match. After a recount, Robin was announced as the victor. Moving on to the final, Robin faced John Taylor from Bulkington ABC. Similarly, in the first round, both boxers clashed heads again. However, this time Taylor suffered a severe cut on his eyelid, forcing the doctor to terminate the bout. Following the count, Taylor was declared the winner.
