Eddie Hearn continues to bang the drum for Israil Madrimov’s chances against Terence Crawford

Eddie Hearn is fulfilling his duties as a promoter, consistently expressing his belief that Israil Madrimov will emerge victorious against Terence Crawford.

On August 3, in Los Angeles, the Kazakh boxer will be defending his WBA super-welterweight title during a Riyadh Season event. He will be facing off against a former two-weight undisputed champion, who recently achieved his most significant victory against Errol Spence Jr. This win propelled him from being great to being considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. Now, the talented fighter known as “Bud” Crawford aims to conquer a fourth weight division, after starting his career as a lightweight.

Madrimov secured his debut world title by showcasing his superior skills against Magomed Kurbanov in Saudi Arabia in March. The fifth-round stoppage occurred at a point when Madrimov appeared to have plenty of untapped potential left, highlighting the significant gap in quality between the two fighters.

Hearn shared his thoughts on the Madrimov-Crawford fight with DAZN’s Chris Mannix while speaking on Saturday night in Philadelphia, just before the debut of newly acquired Jaron Ennis for Matchroom.

According to Hearn, Madrimov is a skilled fighter despite being considered the underdog.

“He possesses incredible agility and immense strength. “Bud” achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the world champion at 135 pounds, then went on to become undisputed at both 140 and 147 pounds. However, there comes a point where moving up in weight classes can be a challenge. Madrimov is an underestimated fighter despite his impressive punching power and being considered the underdog. Unfortunately, big names like Terence Crawford and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh have already made plans for the upcoming year, overlooking the potential of Israil Madrimov.”

Do not underestimate Israil Madrimov. The formidable Uzbek boxer is poised to make a significant impact on one of the most monumental evenings in American boxing history.
