Keyshawn Davis plays matador in points win against Mexican bull Miguel Madueno

In his fourth fight, KEYSHAWN DAVIS showcased his endurance by going the full 10 rounds once again, securing a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Madueno at the Prudential Centre in Newark. The American boxer impressed all three judges, who unanimously scored the bout 99-91 in his favor.

The lightweight contender looked to be in a celebratory mood when he walked to the ring, flanked by his two brothers, prior to his 11th outing but would not have expected to be still throwing punches in the final round.

Madueno’s relentless effort and his Mexican machismo lured Davis into engaging in exchanges, providing unnecessary encouragement to his opponent. Despite this, Davis proved himself as the superior fighter in each round, although he allowed Madueno to unleash his punches by sitting on the ropes.

From a distance, Davis (11-0, 7 KOs) showcased his exceptional accuracy, continuously lighting up Madueno. Despite the Olympic medallist’s early display of determination with body hooks, this strategy was seldom employed again. Instead, Madueno endured an onslaught of punches, displaying resilience and never appearing close to being defeated.

The situation turned chaotic in round six as both fighters allowed their anger to escalate. They clashed heads, causing Davis to push Madueno away with his glove. Referee David Franciosi was unintentionally targeted by Madueno, who attempted to strike him instead of Davis. Fortunately, Madueno only received a verbal warning during the 60-second break.

Madueno, with a record of 31-3 and 28 knockouts, grew increasingly reckless in his attempts to catch Davis in the later rounds. Davis, hailing from Virginia, skillfully showcased the nature of the battle by imitating a matador during the final round.

Afterwards, Davis commented, “He proved to be more resilient than I had anticipated.”

“This was by far the most challenging and physically demanding professional fight I’ve ever had, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a passion for fighting, so I’m grateful that Madueno pushed me to my limits. It provided me with a unique experience, and I’m certain that I’ll learn a great deal from it.”

The contender, who had received great acclaim, declined to specifically challenge anyone and instead expressed, “I am open to facing any opponent. Top Rank can choose to put me in the ring with any renowned boxer. The audience desires it, and I have made my intentions clear. I won’t mention any more names; I have extended my challenge to the entire boxing community. They are aware of my eagerness to fight. Simply send them a contract.”
