BoxWise Foundation has received a generous £1 million pound pledge from QUEENSBERRY PROMOTIONS.
The charity’s main objective is to support at-risk youth by keeping them away from trouble and promoting their engagement in education or employment. Additionally, BoxWise, established in 2020, offers 10-week non-contact boxing programs to the most underprivileged and vulnerable individuals throughout the UK. The sessions include a nutritious meal, and participants who successfully complete the program are given the chance to join a pathways program that assists them in their future endeavors in education or employment.
“I consider boxing as my utmost priority; it has become my entire existence,” expressed an anonymous participant.
My confidence has greatly improved as a result of boxing. It was boxing that helped me kick the habit of smoking, quit drinking, and put an end to my partying lifestyle.
Frank Warren, the promoter for Queensberry, has been appointed as the inaugural Chairman of the Development Board for the BoxWise Foundation. In addition, BoxWise has announced that the generous contribution from Queensberry will be equaled by Nick Maughan, the founder of BoxWise, and Chris Kilvington, a new member of the development board. Both Maughan and Kilvington will be donating an additional £1 million pounds each.
Warren, who participated in the BoxWise session at an Islington Boxing Club on Tuesday (July 23), expressed, “Boxing has provided me with everything I could ask for – companionship, a thriving business, and genuine happiness. But above all, it has given me a reason to wake up in the morning, a true sense of purpose and belonging.”
I am thrilled to announce that Queensberry is extending their support to BoxWise. Additionally, I am honored to accept the position as the inaugural Chairman of the BoxWise Foundation Development Board.
“We are thrilled to have Queensberry on board and are immensely grateful for their support,” expressed Rick Ogden MBE, Director and Co-Founder of BoxWise.
BoxWise aims to guide individuals who are at risk of becoming victims or perpetrators of knife crime towards a more constructive path in life by involving them in the sport.
