When and why you started boxing:

At the age of 20, I embarked on my fitness journey, seeking a fresh approach to enhance my mental and physical well-being. Initially, I joined Big Rigs gym, taking on the role of a cleaner.

Favourite all-time fighter:

I was truly captivated by Arturo Gatti’s fighting style, the immense heart and unwavering determination he displayed during his matches. The fact that he was Italian added an extra layer of admiration for me.

Best fight you have seen:

In my opinion, the Gatti-Micky Ward fights stand out the most.

Personal career highlight:

In September of last year, I achieved a significant milestone by securing the Australasian title. This victory marked my first-ever professional title, and the fact that I competed against an incredibly skilled opponent, Kano Fori, made the win even more rewarding.

Toughest opponent:

Without a doubt, Fano Kori emerged victorious after enduring a challenging battle from beginning to end.

Best and worst attributes:

In boxing, my greatest asset lies in my physical fitness. I possess the ability to relentlessly push forward and apply constant pressure. On the other hand, a vulnerability of mine would be my deficiency in defensive techniques. However, I am dedicated to consistently working diligently towards rectifying these shortcomings.

Training tip:

The most significant factor is one’s dedication to the sport. Regardless of how one may feel on any given day, as long as they put in the effort to attend training, it makes a difference.

Favourite meal/restaurant?

My favourite type of restaurant is typically the one that serves authentic Italian dishes, as I have a particular fondness for a delicious home-made pasta dish.

Best friends in boxing:

At Big Rigs Gym, I am surrounded by my coach, Dayle Phillips, also known as “Big Rig,” my manager, Tony Tolj, and my supportive family.

Which other athlete would you like to be:

Gigi Buffon, the renowned Italian goalkeeper, has been a constant source of inspiration for me throughout my football journey. His exemplary conduct both on and off the field has always commanded my admiration. I have considered him as my role model for several years.

What would you change about professional boxing?

The negative perception surrounding individuals experiencing failure and the excessive emphasis on maintaining a perfect record undermines the value of our efforts. Given the already significant risks we take, our abilities, commitment, and perseverance should not be reduced to mere numerical outcomes.

Who would play you in a film of your life?

Tom Hardy would definitely top my list as one of my favorite actors too.

Have you ever been starstruck?

Seeing Danny Green on TV when I was younger and now having him as my boxing mentor has been an incredible experience.

Last time you cried:

At a recent funeral.

Best advice received:

Likely from my coach Big Rig, the message goes: “Your outcomes are directly proportional to your efforts. If you invest only 10%, you can expect to progress only that much.”

Something not many people know about you.

At the age of 10, my parents introduced me to a boxing gym for the first time, and I despised it completely.
