After signing a Ferrari flag and smiling to a fan’s call of “go to Ferrari”, the rumours linking Adrian Newey to the Scuderia received a fresh spark.
After the first quarter of 2025, Newey is set to become a free agent. He has been with the Red Bull team since 2006, playing a crucial role in designing seven championship-winning contenders. Among those, six have achieved the remarkable feat of securing double titles.

This speculation gained even more momentum during the Monaco Grand Prix when Newey, dressed in his Red Bull attire, was captured on camera autographing merchandise for fans, which notably included a Ferrari flag.
Newey responded with a wide smile when a fan exclaimed, “You must join Ferrari!”

If Newey were to join Ferrari after his time at Red Bull comes to an end, he would have the opportunity to collaborate with Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time World Champion. “There were quite a few rumours around Adrian Newey having signed the deal at Ferrari,” he said in a YouTube video.
There is no solid evidence or official confirmation regarding this matter, but multiple individuals mentioned to me with some credibility that the deal may have been completed. It is possible that it was even finalized during Adrian’s presence at Red Bull over the Monaco weekend. Therefore, we might expect an announcement regarding this soon.
It is highly likely that Lewis Hamilton and his management team played a significant role in finalizing that deal. They are very eager to have Adrian join the team once Lewis moves to Ferrari next year.
Once again, please remain attentive as there is no solid evidence yet, but a significant rumor is circulating.
As of now, there have been 25 championships won in Formula 1 cars designed by Newey. This count has the potential to reach 27 by the conclusion of the F1 season in 2024.
