Alarming footage captures F1 photographers’ lucky escape in Sergio Perez crash

In Monaco, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez experiences a crash.

Alarming footage captured the moment Formula 1 photographers ducked or ran as Sergio Perez smashed into the Armco barrier separating them from the track on the opening lap of the Monaco GP.

After being struck by debris, a photographer was promptly transported to the medical center at the track. Fortunately, he has been discharged and is reported to be in good condition.

Sergio Perez crashed heavily on the opening lap of the Monaco GP

During the first lap of the Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez encountered a frightening crash when his Red Bull vehicle collided with Kevin Magnussen’s car, leading to differing perspectives on whether Perez clipped Magnussen or was clipped by him.

The driver of the Red Bull car was forcefully thrust into a sharp 90° turn, resulting in a nose-first collision with the Armco barrier. The car then swiftly slid down the track, maintaining its velocity, and collided with the adjacent barrier from the side.

The photographers were waiting there for the shot that would make headlines.

However, when the photographers themselves became the subject of photography, they were captured on camera either ducking or running as Perez swiftly approached the barrier.

Perez’s RB20 collided forcefully with the barrier, causing an explosion of bodywork, carbon fibre fragments, and advertising hoarding.

The FIA spokesperson informed the media that the trackside photographer, who was taken to the Medical Centre, did not have any visible wounds.
