In 2025, one of the Red Bull seats holds the potential for a significant change as Sergio Perez’s current contract is set to end by the year’s conclusion.
He signed his last extension at the Monaco weekend in 2022, and while he said that was not the case this time around, he said talks have opened with Red Bull over staying with the team.
He informed the media, including PlanetF1.com, that his primary attention for the weekend is not directed towards his contract.

Yuki Tsunoda looking at Aston Martin as Red Bull alternative?
If Yuki Tsunoda doesn’t get promoted within Red Bull, he mentioned that he could potentially join ‘Team Silverstone’, especially with Honda switching to Aston Martin as their factory power unit partners in 2026.
He made it clear that his goal is still to advance to the ‘senior’ Red Bull team in the future, but he is also considering other possibilities.
He informed the media, including PlanetF1.com, that he held a strong loyalty towards Red Bull and Honda, acknowledging that without their support, he wouldn’t have reached his current position.
And when it comes to Honda, let’s not forget Aston Martin. However, Aston is already being utilized by two drivers.

Carlos Sainz updates on F1 future as Mercedes door possibly closes
Following a report by PlanetF1.com on Wednesday suggesting that Carlos Sainz’s chances of joining Mercedes for the F1 2025 season have diminished, at least temporarily, Sainz was questioned about the matter in Monaco.
Although he mentioned his inability to confirm the situation, he clarified that there could be hidden aspects concerning his future. He intends to carefully consider his options and ensure that he makes the best decision for himself.

Mario Andretti’s ‘bullet through my heart’ comment revealed
Mario Andretti, after departing from the paddock, asserted in the United States that Greg Maffei, the CEO of Liberty Media, assured him that he would utilize all his influence to prevent Michael, Mario’s son, from entering the grid through his Andretti Cadillac F1 initiative.
Andretti granted an interview to NBC News where he recounted an alleged conversation with the president of Formula 1’s owners. He expressed that the exchange felt like a devastating blow, as it came at a time when he and his team were putting immense effort into securing a spot on the grid.
