FIA make quick verdict as Ferrari, Red Bull and RB all summoned after Imola practice incidents

On Friday, Charles Leclerc demonstrated his speed as the fastest driver in both free practice sessions at Imola.

No further action was taken against Sergio Perez as he was summoned for allegedly impeding Charles Leclerc during FP2 at Imola, while Yuki Tsunoda was given a reprimand.

Leclerc decelerated behind the Red Bull driver as they exited the Villeneuve Chicane during a quick lap. His frustration became evident as he attempted to pass and ended up missing the apex at Tosa. Consequently, both drivers reported the incident to the stewards.

In addition to that, Yuki Tsunoda was summoned by the stewards due to an alleged incorrect practice start at the exit of the pit lane in Imola.

As a consequence, he faced reprimand from the FIA for advancing too much in the pit exit to execute a practice start. The FIA justified their decision by stating that Tsunoda’s final position was deemed to be a “dangerous” location.

In the tight confines of Imola during free practice on Friday, drivers faced numerous frustrating moments as they struggled to navigate past each other. Perez’s alleged impeding of Leclerc was just one of these instances.
