Murray Walker and Damon Hill talk.
Anyone remember the old Pizza Hut advert starring Murray Walker and Damon Hill? A video has emerged which brings us some hilarious behind-the-scenes bloopers.
In 1995, Hill was establishing his Formula 1 legacy by securing consecutive second-place finishes in the Drivers’ Championship. The following year, he clinched the title, solidifying his position as a formidable force in the sport. Given his success, it comes as no shock that Pizza Hut sought Hill’s endorsement to enhance their brand. To further amplify their campaign, they also enlisted the renowned F1 commentator, Murray Walker.

Hill would contemplate that statement, the Pizza Hut commercial, and honor Walker for possessing a voice perfectly suited for both the microphone and the world of motor racing.
“I had the uncomfortable job of grabbing Murray by the lapels and giving him a shake,” Hill told Sportsmail in reference to that Pizza Hut advert. “He was a much better actor than me.
His mention of having a lump in his throat has become the central theme, the defining phrase of my entire narrative. It required someone as respected as him, a renowned commentator, to accomplish this. I believe he genuinely experienced emotions of joy and happiness on my behalf, and he willingly expressed that. I will forever be indebted to him for creating one of those timeless moments.
His voice was perfectly suited for both the microphone and the world of motor racing. It possessed a distinct two-stroke engine quality, acquired over years of immersing himself in the world of motorcycles. With a simple increase in volume, he effortlessly drowned out any competing noises in the background.
Since his retirement, Hill has become a prominent figure in Formula 1 as a pundit for Sky Sports.
