Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.
Nico Rosberg sarcastically urged someone to tell Max Verstappen that it was actually a corner where he collided with Lewis Hamilton in Hungary, after Verstappen pinned the blame on Hamilton.
Hamilton and Verstappen engaged in a thrilling two-part battle at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Hamilton successfully holding off Verstappen in part one, before Verstappen returned for another attack in the final stint as the former title rivals battled over the final place on the podium. The end result was contact.
Nico Rosberg gets sarcastic in Max Verstappen v Lewis Hamilton verdict
Verstappen made a daring move on Hamilton at Turn 1, but unfortunately, he locked both front wheels and momentarily went airborne after hitting the front-right wheel of Hamilton’s Mercedes.
Verstappen firmly blamed Hamilton when speaking to Sky F1 after the race.
When questioned about whether his frustration affected the battle, Verstappen, who had expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s strategy during the Hungarian GP through radio messages, responded by saying, “I don’t believe so. I made a fully committed move.”
“However, right in the midst of braking, when I had already fully committed to the maneuver, he abruptly veered to the right. Had I not steered while braking in a straight line, our vehicles would have collided.”
“Eventually, I instinctively freeze up when he continuously turns to the right.”
“People obviously made a lot about what happened in Austria, which is not correct, blah, blah, blah, but that’s on the initial move and then you just brake straight. You hold your wheel quite straight. And I felt like now it was not on the initial movement, afterwards, during the braking zone, he keeps turning right.
“When someone has already committed to the inside, it becomes impossible for you to perform that action. That’s precisely why I locked up, as a collision would have been inevitable since he intended to turn into my path.”
“I believe my actions were not incorrect. I executed a maneuver with complete commitment. I do not believe I applied the brakes too late.”

During the Hungarian GP, Rosberg, who used to be Hamilton’s teammate at Mercedes and was now a pundit for Sky F1, differed from Verstappen’s perspective on the incident. In a sarcastic tone, he remarked that Verstappen needed to be informed that Hamilton was turning because they were at a corner.
Rosberg mentioned that the increasing frustration is becoming evident, and as spectators, we genuinely find it enjoyable to observe. He pointed out that it provides a refreshing change from the previous dominance of Red Bull.
However, I am assuming that perhaps Max has not witnessed it on television yet. If that is not the case, then someone should inform him that it was indeed a corner, which explains why Lewis was turning in… I mean, Lewis was taking the corner!
“I’m fairly certain that he’ll receive a penalty for that, around five or 10 seconds, causing him to fall behind Sainz.”
In the end, the stewards decided not to take any additional measures, confirming Verstappen’s P5 position that he maintained following the collision with Hamilton.
