Leon Edwards is shook.
The reigning UFC welterweight champion crossed paths with the mighty Belal Muhammad ahead of their UFC 304 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this Sat. night (July 27, 2024) at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, and it sounds like “Rocky” and Co. were shaking in their boots.
“I just saw him right now in the elevator, he looked like he was afraid,” Muhammad told MMA Junkie. “Him and his brother and his coach, they all looked like cowards. His coach was trying to talk a little bit of trash, so I’m hoping that his coach is at the press conference, because I know Leon’s not gonna be able to talk.”
Edwards has the “fakest team in UFC,” according to Muhammad.
“They believed they would appear more impressive or attempt to appear stronger, but I sensed their fear,” Muhammad recounted. “Leon remained silent. His coach spoke, but his peculiar, unintelligent accent made him sound as though he had autism or was intellectually slow. I couldn’t comprehend his words, but they lacked intelligence in every way.”
He certainly sounded smart during this key moment.
“Rocky” and “Remember the Name” battled to a “No Contest” at UFC Vegas 21 after an errant eye poke brought a halt to the action. This weekend’s five-round headliner will give them an opportunity to settle the score once and for all, with or without this longtime referee.
