Dana White just called Alex Pereira.
The fact that the CEO is dialing the reigning light heavyweight champion during UFC 304 fight week is a strong indication of its significance. This becomes even more noteworthy when considering that “Poatan” will not be participating on Saturday night (July 27, 2024) at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.
Pereira, who has already competed twice this year on short notice, was initially expected to be inactive for the next few months. However, we can only hope that there are no unexpected issues with the UFC 305 fight card in Perth, where Israel Adesanya is set to take on Dricus Du Plessis for the 185-pound title.
“On Instagram, Pereira pondered, ‘Should I make the call or refrain from calling?'”
In November of last year, in New York, the Brazilian fighter claimed the 205-pound title by defeating Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. Continuing his winning streak, he successfully defended his championship by knocking out Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. Prochazka made an attempt to reclaim the title at UFC 303 in Las Vegas but was once again defeated by the dominant “Poatan.”
Dare we dream this wish is coming true?
