UFC’s Khamzat hides behind Twitter, sends marketing stooge to explain ‘major downfall’ of SMASH token

Fans wants answers.

UFC middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev was recently accused of running a pump-and-dump scheme for his SMASH crypto coin, which reportedly “stole up to $1,000,000” from faithful investors.

“Regarding the supply, yes, we sniped 80 percent of the supply and we still own almost 80 percent of the supply,” a person who claims to be working on the “marketing team” said in a video posted to Chimaev’s Twitter account. “We did not sell, we were not the cause of the major downfall that happened in the token. Everything is public, you can track all wallets. There is no scam that has been happening. It’s simply people that bought early that sold very late and took profits, and not us. Neither is it Khamzat’s team nor us who caused that.”

That’s a much different story than we got from Chimaev’s manager, Majdi Shammas, just two days prior.

Shammas expressed that a group identifying themselves as fans of Khamzat Chimaev approached him. They requested his participation in creating a brief promotional video for their launch. Shammas agreed to this request, without any further involvement. It is possible that he was deceived or misled in this matter. Khamzat himself was not aware or involved in this situation, and possesses the same level of understanding as the general public. Shammas finds the news unsettling and intends to seek an explanation from those responsible. He extends his apologies to Khamzat and all others who have been affected by this incident, and acknowledges that he would have acted differently if given the chance. He appreciates your comprehension and assures to keep everyone informed of any updates.

It seems that Shammas overlooked these tweets by Chimaev, who has chosen not to provide any comments on them.

Khamzat did two separate posts about the coin before they were deleted.

So your story of “nothing more nothing less” does not add up entirely. https://t.co/q7Im8W5FVn pic.twitter.com/K8CFIBNZXi

“Borz, fans on Chimaev’s Twitter page are urging you to provide an explanation, as they believe you are too fearful to express your own thoughts.”

We’re unlikely to see Chimaev in front of a microphone anytime soon. The former welterweight was pulled from the UFC Saudi Arabia card last month after yet another mystery illness and as of this writing, has no definitive timeline for his Octagon return.
