Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Manel Kape vs. Muhammad Mokaev is one of the most important fights on the UFC 304 card. Outside of the two title fights that top the event, it might be the most relevant bout to its division’s title picture. Ranked at No. 8 and No. 6 in the world respectively, the winner may receive the next shot at divisional kingpin Alexandre Pantoja.
Why is it appearing on the initial part of the preliminary card?
The Kape vs. Mokaev fight had initially been scheduled to take place on the main pay-per-view (PPV) card but was later moved to the preliminary card, which still garners significant attention. However, it has now been further downgraded to the early prelims according to the UFC and ESPN websites.
Why?
Fans online are trying to figure that out, and there’s a lot of theories and reactions going about. Most of them revolve around Kape, who has missed weight and been forced to withdraw due to injury in the last year. If something is wrong with “Starboy” and he’s iffy for Saturday night, maybe that explains the bout relocation. The alternative theory is maybe the bout’s location was affected by the wonky time slot, which will punish local fans and athletes alike by forcing them to endure an extremely late Saturday night until early Sunday morning event
Regardless, make sure to read some of the online responses below:
This particular fight holds immense significance despite not being a title match, making it the most crucial bout on the entire card. There is definitely something intriguing happening here.
Do you really think Kape will be able to meet the weight requirement? He appears to be significantly larger than the typical flyweight fighters.
They are aware that Kape will withdraw, and Mokaev will have to face an unfamiliar opponent with only a 48-hour notice.
This is absolutely crazy. There must be something happening.
I suppose it would be logical to schedule it at a more convenient time for people in the UK. There is no reason for it to be held at an early hour like 5am.
It seems like the aim is to increase viewership for the early prelim card, possibly by attracting a larger audience.
Their aim is to energize the initial card, bearing in mind that this will take place in Manchester after midnight.
I can’t believe Manel Kape is on the early prelims! It’s ridiculous that such an amazing fight is being relegated to that slot. I’m extremely disappointed.
Currently, the Christian Leeroy Duncan vs. Gregory Rodrigues match is set to be a thrilling and entertaining fight on the main PPV card. Keep an eye out for any additional information!
Insomnia
It looks like Nursulton Ruziboev had a tough loss against Joaquin Buckley in wrestling, and now they’re scheduling him to compete against Rinat Fakhretdinov. This upcoming matchup is going to be challenging for Ruziboev.

Although I am skeptical that it will occur this weekend, I am eager to witness the outcome if Aspinall is compelled to compete in the third round.
