Silovs signs 2-year contract with Canucks
The restricted free agent goalie participated in 10 playoff games during the previous season.

Arturs Silovs signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 23-year-old goalie, who was a restricted free agent, was 3-0-1 with a 2.47 goals-against average and .881 save percentage in four regular-season games for the Canucks last season and 5-5 with a 2.91 GAA and .898 save percentage in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games, getting playing time with injuries to Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith.
Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin expressed his gratitude for Arturs’ significant contributions as a goalie last year and acknowledged his ongoing growth and development. Allvin stated that they anticipate Arturs to compete for a permanent spot on the team during training camp. Additionally, Allvin emphasized their commitment to supporting Arturs’ skill enhancement and equipping him with the necessary resources to further progress in his young career.
Silovs, who was chosen by Vancouver as the 156th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, has recorded a 6-2-1 record with a 2.62 GAA and .898 save percentage throughout his nine starts in the NHL.
