LA Kings Sign Forward Liam Greentree To a Three-Year Entry-Level Contract
The LA Kings signed forward Liam Greentree to a three-year entry-level contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $975,000 through the 2026-27 season.
Greentree, who was drafted 26th overall by the Kings in the 2024 NHL Draft, had an impressive season as the Captain for the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He achieved career-best numbers in goals (36), assists (54), and points (90). Greentree’s exceptional performance led him to finish among the top 20 players in the OHL in goals, assists, points, and points-per-game (1.41). As a result, he was honored with a spot on the OHL Third All-Star Team at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Over the past two seasons, the forward, measuring 6-2 and weighing 215 pounds, showcased his skills with Windsor in 125 OHL games, accumulating an impressive 135 points (61-74=135). During the 2022-23 season, Greentree’s exceptional performance resulted in 25 goals, the highest among OHL rookies, and earned him a well-deserved spot on the OHL First All-Rookie Team.
Greentree, originally from Oshawa, Ontario, proudly represented Canada in the 2024 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Under-18 World Junior Championship held earlier this year. With an impressive record of four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in seven games, Greentree played a vital role in helping Canada secure their fifth gold medal in the tournament’s history.
